Stability and Mobility of Ping-Pong Tables

Cornilleau ping-pong tables are designed to offer optimal stability and easy mobility.

A ping-pong table must be stable both during play and when stored away. A model with brakes offers a clear advantage in terms of stability over one that does not have them. Once unfolded, brakes aren't the only feature that keeps a table in place. The legs also play a key role. It’s not uncommon to bump into the table while playing, especially during intense rallies. A table with thicker legs will stay more firmly in place in such situations than one with thinner legs and a lighter frame.

To be moved to your desired play or storage area, your table must be easy to handle and able to roll over uneven surfaces or even overcome obstacles. That’s why Cornilleau outdoor tables are equipped with large double wheels that provide unmatched maneuverability. Some models, like the 600X and 700X, come with a lifting handle that helps overcome steps and other small obstacles.

Good stability is essential

Adjustable Legs on Ping Pong Tables

On mobile tables, large footpads allow you to adjust the height of the legs, ensuring perfect levelness, especially on uneven surfaces. The wider the leg, the greater the stability.

The Table Frame

The frame is made of a corrosion-resistant steel/aluminum/zinc alloy. It plays an important role in the table’s stability, but most importantly in maintaining a flat playing surface. The higher the frame, the better it reinforces the table.

Brakes

To prevent the table from moving, brakes play a key role. They stabilize mobile tables both in the playing and storage positions, even on sloped surfaces.

For easier mobility

The wheels on outdoor ping-pong tables

The more wheels a table has, the better its weight distribution. Using wide (32mm) twin wheels significantly improves the table’s mobility, especially on various and/or uneven surfaces such as grass, gravel, or wooden decks.

The 200mm diameter Oversize wheels, combined with their ultra-robust design, offer unmatched obstacle-clearing capabilities, easily handling curbs, terraces, sidewalks, and more.

Crossing Handles

When facing a step or obstacle, having a good grip makes all the difference. The crossing handle featured on the 600X and 700X tables was designed to help you move easily between different areas of your garden. You’ll be able to lift your table effortlessly and play wherever you like. This crossing handle is also particularly helpful when it comes time to store your table.
