Modern Slavery Act
Core Leisure Limited (trading as Cornilleau UK)
Financial Year: Ending 31st December 2024
About Core Leisure Limited
Core Leisure Limited imports and markets the Cornilleau SAS range of table tennis products and game tables in the UK. We are a small company with an approximate turnover of £4 million and a staff of 4 employees. Our operations involve working with UK retailers and directly through our website.
Approximately 90% of the products we import are manufactured in two factories in France, with the remaining 10% consisting of accessories sourced from third-party factories in China and India (including bats, balls, covers, and nets). These accessories contribute to around 10% of our turnover.
Commitment to the Principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015
Core Leisure Limited is committed to upholding the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and to the abolition of modern slavery and human trafficking. We strive to create a non-discriminatory, respectful, and supportive working environment for all our staff, ensuring they feel confident to report any wrongdoing without fear of retaliation.
Our recruitment and employment processes ensure that all employees are legally entitled to work in the UK and are protected from abuse or coercion. We do not engage in business relationships with organizations that knowingly support or are found to be involved in slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour.
Our Supply Chain
Given the nature of our business, we assess our risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chains as low. Our supply chains are straightforward, as we source all products from our French parent company and work with UK-based distribution and warehousing companies. Many of these UK partners are large businesses that publish their own Modern Slavery Act statements.
The French parent company adheres to its own robust policies aimed at managing the risk of modern slavery. Most of our products are manufactured in France, where local and European laws ensure fair and ethical working conditions. The factories are recognized as great places to work and require overseas suppliers to sign a code of conduct that includes strict provisions on Business Integrity and Transparency, Human Rights, Health and Safety, and Environmental standards. A link to this policy is available on their website.
Our Policies in Relation to the Modern Slavery Act 2015
The following policies are available to all staff to support a fair and safe working environment:
Disciplinary Policy
Sickness Policy
Contract of Employment
These policies ensure that employees understand their rights and the actions they can take if they suspect a case of slavery or human trafficking.
Further Actions
Core Leisure Limited is committed to continuously embedding the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. In the coming year, we will focus on:
Providing awareness training on modern slavery to all staff, including guidance on actions to take if a case is suspected.
Ensuring that the risks of modern slavery are incorporated into our internal policy review processes as both an employer and procurer of goods and services.
Continuing to maintain a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery within our operations and supply chains.
